Club Penguin Team Celebrates It's Birthday!

Club Penguin Team Celebrates It's Birthday!

Today is a historic day in Club Penguin history. Not only is it Club Penguin's 7th birthday, but the original Club Penguin creators meet-up online today.

Rsnail, Screenhog, and Billybob built Club Penguin way back in 2005. Rsnail and Screenhog left the company almost two years ago, and Billybob announced his departure just last week.

Today however, they all met on server Yeti and had a very rare party.

It's been year's since the original Club Penguin crew gathered together on the same server. Also at the party was Polo Field, Businessmoose, Gizmo, and other mods.

Club Penguin employees are also having their own party at the Club Penguin Canadian offices.

Was anyone online for this rare event? Comment!

More 'Operation: Blackout' Sneak Peeks!

More 'Operation: Blackout' Sneak Peeks!

Today Polo Field tweeted two sneak peeks of Operation: Blackout.

This here is a message from the Elite Spy Phone. It looks like someone will break into Gary's lab, and, kidnap him!

The second sneak peek is very strange. Are those plants and mountains?

So it looks like Herbert will succeed in his "To Capture" list.

What do you think that second sneak peek is? Tell me!

Happy77 Leaves Disney Club Penguin!

Happy77 Leaves Disney Club Penguin!

More sad news today as we learn Happy77 will be leaving Club Penguin. This comes a few days after
learning about Billybob's departure. Here is Happy77's goodbye post:

"Happy77 here. It's almost Club Penguin's anniversary. Hard to believe that Club Penguin is
almost 7 years old already! I'm writing this post to let you know that I'll also be moving on from
Club Penguin. I'll be spending my time raising my children. Who knows? Maybe one day my kids
will grow up to be bloggers, too. :)

I’ve had an amazing time here at Club Penguin. Like Billybob, you're the reason I've done this
for so long. Polo Field and Businesmoose have been helping me since I first started blogging in
2008, so I know you’re in good hands.

Thanks for being so supportive, and for the great memories."

Happy77 is part of the original Club Penguin team, before Club Penguin grew and got bought by Disney.

I've meet Happy77 two times in the game:

The community will sure miss you Happy77, thanks for all your work!

Herbert P. Bear Creates His Own Website!

Herbert P. Bear Creates His Own Website!

Herbert has built his own personal website called ClubHerbert.com!

Hey, I've seen that picture before - Herbert tweeted a sneak peek of his computer last week.

But what the sneak peek didn't reveal was this "To Capture" list.

This is not good: Gary, Dot, Rookie, Jet Pack Guy, and The Director are all on the "To Capture" list.
If he does capture them, Club Penguin will be doomed!

BREAKING NEWS: Lane Merrifield LEAVING Club Penguin!

BREAKING NEWS: Lane Merrifield LEAVING Club Penguin!

JUST IN: Lane Merrifield (Billybob), the owner and one of the creators of Club Penguin, is leaving!

According to Lane, he wants to work on new projects. This is a letter he sent out to all the Club Penguin
 workers:

"To my friends at Disney:

Five years ago our little company joined Disney and I had no idea then what an amazing adventure it would turn out to be. Since that time, I have had the privilege of working alongside and learning from so many of you and the joy of creating great products together. I appreciate the opportunity and the faith this company placed in me and the ways it has allowed me to grow both as a leader and as a person. I am also grateful for the countless memories this company has created for me and my family. Our team has grown Club Penguin from a simple idea to being the largest global virtual world for kids for seven straight years while maintaining a significant profit margin. I am incredibly proud to have been a part of Club Penguin, and I know that it will continue to grow and thrive.

Like many entrepreneurs though, there comes a time when the desire to create something new outweighs the comfort of what’s known and for me that time has come.

Over the past year, I’ve invested in a new educational startup called FreshGrade that focuses on creating mobile cloud-based assessment software for teachers and students and it has reached a place where more of my time is needed. We started Club Penguin in order to enhance our children’s online experience and now I hope to do the same with their educational experience.

Thank you for the role you’ve played in my journey and I truly hope that even though my business card may change, my friendship with so many of you will not.

With gratitude,
Lane"
I'm going to need some time to take this in; Lane has been the face of Club Penguin ever since I've started playing the game.

The question now is, who's going to be taking is place?

Post a comment to tell me your reaction and answer the question above.
